World-class amusement park in Aalborg
There’s a world-class tourist attraction close to downtown Aalborg: Tivoliland Aalborg, chosen by the Discovery Channel in 2003 as the fourth wildest amusement park in the world. One of the reasons is that many of Tivoliland’s star attractions were built especially for the amusement park itself and can only be enjoyed here. The biggest attraction is the 40 metre high Boomerang, Scandinavia’s largest ride - a rollercoaster that loops, curves and corkscrews both forwards and backwards! You’ll also experience two of the world’s wildest and most thrilling rides: the Gravity Tower - a 55 metre free fall tower, and Star Discovery with its 3-D “ride effect”.
Tivoliland Aalborg also features the Ghost Train, Flying Carpet, 1001 Nights, Looping Rollercoaster, Balloon Race, Space-Car and Panorama Lift - a trip through time from the Garden of Eden to the Space Age.
Tivoliland - a park with traditions
The park was founded in 1946 and has hosted countless families, many who make a tradition of visiting the park once a year. New traditions are always springing up; for example, new high school graduates have begun visiting the park to celebrate "Blue Monday", a Danish tradition, in wild and crazy - yet safe - style.
Whether you visit Tivoliland alone, as a couple, with kids or with friends from home or abroad you’ll find that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
There are also free entertainment and activities - experience the beauty of the beautiful old garden covered in flowers, plants and tall trees. Cool off near the large fountain and enjoy your picnic at one of our many picnic areas. The park is also known for its many high-quality restaurants and fast-food outlets. When darkness falls, thousands of coloured lamps illuminate the park for a real fairyland atmosphere.
